Biomimicry – or learning from nature – is a rapidly growing field of scientific research and innovation. The geese that make up our logo inspired us with an exemplary form of collaboration and leadership that is deeply insightful for the human race. Each goose - no matter their age or position in the hierarchy - takes its turn to lead the flock, assuming pole position and absorbing the stresses and strains of leadership during their shift. When exhausted, another goose will take its place. When a bird is flagging in some way, the others honk in encouragement. When they fly they do so together, in a V-shape, which gives every bird behind a boost from aerodynamic uplift caused by the wings of the goose in front. The formation affords them perfect vision of the way ahead.
